
Learn the basic skills, maneuvers and techniques to become a stronger and more confident paddler. Dryland topics include kayak nomenclature and equipment, kayak safety, the paddling environment and personal preparation. On-water instruction includes, but is not limited to basic strokes such as forward, sweep (forward and reverse), draw, back, and rudder strokes and rescue techniques. Incomplete level 1 instruction may be continued with additional classes.

Instruction lasts approximately 1 - 1.5 hours.
